Spitfire MK3 1969

Spitfire MK3 1969

We’ve known this car since 1999 when we collected it to finish off a body-off restoration for the owner who was away in the Cayman Islands if my memory serves me correctly. I can be excused, this was 12 years ago! The years rolled by and then it turned up again for some routine service work in 2007 with it’s new and current owner who’s now owned it for 10 years. He is now blessed with too many Triumphs so the spitfire has drawn the short straw and is up for grabs.

A really nice example of the MK3. Decent examples are getting even thinner on the ground these days. Popular colour and an overdrive gearbox. Wire wheels really set the car off. Very clean and straight body coloured chassis, correct FD prefix engine, K&N air filters and stainless steel sports exhaust system. Kenlowe electric cooling fan. Nice interior, motolita woodrim steering wheel, canvass hood and hood cover.

Drives superb and handles really well too. Stainless steel exhaust really does boost performance and sounds fantastic.

12 months MOT, Tax exempt.

Triumph Spitfire 1500 1977

Triumph Spitfire 1500 1977

We’ve known this 5 owner spitfire since 2007 when the owner spent over £6000 with us on having it put back on the road for his wife. Since then I think they’ve moved or something, I’m not really sure, and we’ve ended up taking the car back due to lack of space.

Back in 2007 we replaced the entire offside sill kit together with numerous other repairs including driveshaft rebuilds, new hood, full stainless steel sports exhaust system, carpet set, laminated windscreen, modern fuse box conversion, the list was endless!

When we took the car back last year James and I stood back and made the highly executive decision to replace the sill kit on the other side as it was looking a bit sorry for itself. So we now have a spitfire up for grabs with excellent sills which is half the battle if you are in the market for one of these cars. Bearing in mind we will happily charge you £1200 per side plus VAT for this work alone, you should find this car to be an absolute bargain!

Yes, it’s not absolutely mint but with sound chassis and sills all the scary stuff has all been taken care of for you. We’re good like that.

Runs and drives really well. Strong 1500 engine, starts well and runs nice and smoothly. The exhaust sounds superb, come and have a listen!

TR6 1972

A lovely TR6. Pimento Red with black interior and red seat piping.

Turn the key and this car positively roars into life. What a sound! Strong, six cylinder, 2.5 litre super smooth, 150bhp engine. Triple weber carburettors, with K&N air filters. Excellent gearbox with overdrive in 2nd, 3rd and 4th. With SAH stainless steel twin sports exhaust too, this TR6 sounds and drives as good as it looks. Black mohair hood in excellent condition with zip out rear window. Clarion radio cassette and Kenwood speakers. None of that ipod nonsense here!

This car handles really well and is an absolute pleasure to drive. A true flying machine! Trust us, we’ve driven a few!

Tax exempt. 12 months MOT

SPITFIRE 1500 1981

Spitfire 1500 1981 "X" Reg!

1500 Spitfire's don't get much later than this.

We've had this car in stock a few times over the years and it's an absolute pleasure to have it back in stock once again.

Sadly the condition of the driver's side floor let the car down when it came to MOT so the previous owner decided to cut her losses and go shopping for a Japanese alternative.
We've at last had the opportunity to get this spitfire through the workshop. James and I stood back, prodded and poked and decided that the best option was to replace the whole offside floor pan and treat the car to a complete 6 piece sill kit at the same time. So take advantage of our hard work and pick yourself up a bargain.

Runs and drives very well indeed. A full service history including original bill of sale. Nice hood, tidy interior. Sports air filters, full width radiator.

This is the only spitfire we've come across with reversing sensors, whatever next!

TR6 1970

TR6 1971

My very own TR6 is up for sale. You might recognise it from JY Classics advertisements. You might have seen it when visiting us or you might have been lucky enough to blag it off me as a courtesy car whilst we worked on your own Triumph!

The time has come to move it onto a new lucky owner as we are looking to start another big project pretty soon.

We dragged this TR6 off a chap's drive in Beaconsfield back in 2000. It had sat rusting outside his house for 10 years with tears in the hood so it was doing a great job of rusting from the inside out too.

Upon inspection back at the workshop we decided to throw the chassis away as it really was good for nothing. A 3 year long body off restoration commenced and after replacing pretty much every panel on the car, chassis included, this beast emerged.

I chose Porsche dunkleblau metallic blue clear laquer over base coat paintwork to really set the car off. The interior is tan and we recovered the seats with leather. Phoenix 6,3,1 full sports stainless steel big bore exhaust with single upswept silencer sounds truly wonderful, so much so that fitting a radio just didn't happen. Lowered springs all round and low profile 205 tyres means this is one seriously low TR6, you've been warned! Revington TR rear telescopic damper conversion gives a firm ride and sorts the handling.

Mohair hood in navy with matching hood cover. Motalita woodrim steering wheel, Overdrive gearbox, tax exempt.

Part exchange welcome.

Glorious.

GT6 MK3 1973

GT6 1973

We recommissioned this GT6 in July 07 but since then it's been pretty much unused and has just sat feeling sorry for itself in a garage whilst it's owner has been kept busy overseas with HM Forces.

We've got it back to sell and I really like this car. I can't recall the last time I drove a GT6 that drove this nicely. A strong and silky smooth 2 litre six cylinder engine that sounds amazing and an overdrive gearbox that's as good as any I've come across. You will not be disappointed with this little beauty.

Tidy and very original interior that instantly sends you back to the mid 70's as soon as you climb inside. We pretty much went through everything the car needed when we had it last time: Full service, new driveshaft universal joints and rear wheel bearings, propshaft universal joints, rear wheel cylinders, rebuilt calipers, new radiator and cooling hoses, rebuilt clutch and brake master cylinders, rebuilt slave cylinder, all new brake pipes and hoses, sill repaired, lower wing/floor repaired and painted, blasted and painted wheels, new overdrive wiring loom, loads more, etc etc, shan't bore you... Final bill £5,582.29.

12 months MOT, ready to be enjoyed. An absolute bargain.

SPITFIRE 1500 1977

Spitfire 1500 1977

Emma has too many cars (8 to be precise) and the Spitfire has drawn the short straw and is up for grabs. Racy Lacy is one of the fastest spitfires I've driven in a long time. She really is a flying machine! Bell full stainless steel sports exhaust system has to be heard to be appreciated. This is a real driver's car. It just drives and handles so well.

The bodywork is a little untidy but don't let this put you off. It's good and solid in all the crucial areas and the chassis is sound and straight.  Overdrive gearbox too. K&N sports air filters, full width radiator, ally rocker cover,Magnecor HT leads.

Spitfire on a budget? This one's for you!

TR6 1972

TR6 1972

This fine TR6 was subject to a 3 year full body off restoration between 1997 and 2000.

We've got loads of photos here to show off the work done. Impressive stuff, with most panels having been replaced. The car came to us last year for a full service and a few extras including brake overhaul, clutch hydraulics, cooling hoses etc and is now up for grabs.

This particular TR6 ticks all your pre check boxes with a strong, silky smooth 150 bhp 6 cylinder engine. Bosch fuel pump conversion and overdrive gearbox. Sneaks under the radar for tax exemption too. Popular colour and very tidy interior. Drives wonderfully, pulls like a train and handles great.

Happy days!

MK3 GT6 1971

Just turn the key and listen to this GT6 and you'll be off to the cashpoint to fetch your deposit...you've been warned!

You can't beat the sound of a straight six especially when some kind soul has bolted a full Phoenix stainless steel 6-3-1 manifold and exhaust system to it. Makes a Slipknot concert sound positively tame.

Loads of goodies on this one to bore your friends with: S.U. carbs and sports air filters, ally radiator cowling, gas strut conversion kit fitted to the bonnet to save your back, powder coated chassis, polybush suspension bushes everywhere by the looks of things so you can forget about replacing them until hell freezes over.

Electronic ignition so there's no contact breaker points gap or dwell angles to worry about and the condenser is in the bin too.

Flamethrower ignition coil, chrome rocker cover, overdrive gearbox, leather rim Motolita steering wheel, walnut dashboard, original looking rubbish radio.

Recently recovered seats in the original black velour with new foams.

Drives as any good GT6 should...great.

None of that road tax nonsense to concern yourself with as this particular 1971 MK3 just sneaks in under the radar and makes queuing at the post office an absolute joy.

MOT'd and ready to go.

SPITFIRE 1500 1979

Spitfire 1500 1979

We've known this fantastic spitfire since 2001. Up for sale due to it's owner buying a German contraption with the engine in the wrong place...world's gone mad.

The current owner is a company director so he's got pots of money and has not been afraid to spend it with us on his beloved spitty.

Oh no, not another list! Stage 3 unleaded cylinder head with fast road camshaft, duplex timing gear kit, Bell stainless steel full sports exhaust system (yummy), K&N sports air filters and matching carburettor needles, kenlowe electric cooling fan, oil cooler, immobiliser, JY Classics' special top secret fuse box upgrade, spax front shock absorbers with lowered road springs, stainless steel braided brake hoses, mohair hood and hood cover, tasty Alpine stereo with ipod/mp3 wotsit thingy-bob and 4 speakers, overdrive gearbox, genuine Minilite alloy wheels with 175/70/13 tyres, walnut dashboard.

I've checked the old invoices, scary stuff. After doing that lot, I think James went shopping for a helicopter and I settled for a small yacht.

A real driver's spitfire. If Lewis had this, Jensen wouldn't stand a chance.

GT6 MK3 1974

A GT6 that we've sold before and an absolute pleasure to have for sale once again.
One of the last ones too as it was 46th from end of production.

Quite some history behind this particular car, having been subject to 2 full bare metal resorations over the years.
Photo albums and full documentation of all restoration work are included.
Originally a TSSC concours show car with numerous wins.

Only 3 owners from new with the first owner keeping the car for an incredible 30 years.
Just 96,000 miles from new with pretty much a full service history.

Non rotoflex, overdrive gearbox, unleaded cylinder head. Stainless steel sports exhaust so it sounds as well as it goes.
Kenlowe electric cooling fan, spin on oil filter conversion. Motolita leather rim steering wheel,
Sony CD player although I'd rather listen to that super smooth straight six, what a soundtrack!
New Minator Minilite alloy wheels with Goodyear tyres all round.
Recent brake overhaul including servo, calipers and master cylinder. New water pump, cooling hoses,
New electronic ignition, coil and leads. Clutch hydraulics overhauled, gear selector bush kit.
Breathable car cover included.

Can't remember the last time I saw such a clean chassis and floor pans.
Just check out the photos of the car on our lift.

Mot'd and ready to go!

Spitfire 1500 1976

Another Spitfire that we've known for years, and one of my favourite 1500s.

Before the current owners, John & Hannah, took ownership of the car, we replaced the sills so we are pleased to confirm all is well in all crucial areas of the bodywork including chassis and floors.

We fitted a new mohair hood for them some time ago and it's still looking good.

Nice engine and overdrive gearbox. Bell stainless steel sports exhaust sounds fantastic.

Blaupunkt CD player, Stainless steel braided brake hoses.

GT6 MK3 1971

GT6 MK3 1971

I've been looking forward to getting this car in to sell.

Jim has owned this GT6 for 20 years. We really went to town on this car back in 2004, replacing the bonnet assembly, rear wings, doorskins, respray and a whole lot more at a total cost just shy of £10,000(Receipts included).

Since then, Jim has barely used the car and it's just sat in his garage feeling sorry for itself.

What a fantastic GT6. First time we've seen it in four years and an absolute pleasure to drive. Overdrive gearbox, excellent panel gaps courtesy of those fine fellows at JY Classics, good chassis, inviting interior.

Tax exempt, loads of service history, sensible price.

Come and get it...
